Instructions

If you have a database available, take some time now to find the initialization file, and familiarize yourself with some of the parameters. If you are running on a Windows machine, the initialization file for the default database will be in
c:/orant/database. 

The initialization file for the default database that is created when you install Oracle software will be named initORCL.ora. On a UNIX system, you should look in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory.
